The island is very beautiful. My little wooden hut is located directly on a Mangrove-type of river, so I just open the door and see water and green trees. And the water is very clear and I can see those small but very long fish with a neon yellow nose (called long-nosed pipe fish maybe?). Anyway, they waggle with their tail when they swim in a very funny way.

Yesterday I explored the area a little and walked 40min to a beautiful beach called Lonely Beach. And as the name suggests, there were only a few people there but the area was still feeling alive (in a good way), since there are some wooden bungalows next to trees and a cute café with a few books to borrow. They offer snorkeling tours because there is a little coral island close by, so I might do that in the next days. Other than that there is bioluminescent plankton in the sea, but it needs to be completely dark to be able to see it and yesterday was full moon. But let‘s see, maybe I am lucky and we have a cloudy night at some point.

Today I got up to see the sunrise (which was breathtaking, the intense orange sun was incredible), explored the river on kayak, had a little swim and found a nice café on top of a hill overlooking the sea and a local fisher village. I think the next days will be rather slow, I want to read, journal and paint a bit. I am staying in the hut 3 more nights and then I thought about staying 2 more nights at a hostel directly at a beach (to increase my chances to see the glowing plankton!).

Now it‘s around 9pm and I am incredibly tired but it‘s no surprise since I got up so early and the heat and the sun are quite challenging. Which is why I really love to have this morning time even more and watch the sunrise. The morning light is just so beautiful. Ok, good night!

P.S. When I arrived I had in my bathroom one small bucket and a very large bucket with water and didn‘t really understand what they are for. Turns out… that‘s the „shower“! So that‘s something! :D
