Today I was very determined to go to the hot springs that are right next to a cold river. It took me a whole day and now I am very tired. But it was worth it. When I arrived there, it was beautiful. The mountains in the background. The trees. The grass. Everything so lush. Buffallos and birds. I would have loved to stay there a couple of days. And there is also a small musical festival happening in that area.

But: I already have a strict schedule for the next 2 days bc I am picking up my parents from Bangkok’ airport on the 9th. And today is the 6th.

But I have to be honest, I did mess up my schedule with the hot spring adventure, since it took me forever to get there. I could have turned back earlier… long story short: I missed my evening bus to Chiang Rai. So now I am going to Chiang Rai tomorrow morning and will arrive there in the afternoon which leaves me only 1,5h to explore that one white temple I really wanted to see (stay at a hostel and get up tomorrow before the opening times). But I can‘t complain now, I knew the risk and I took it. And the hot springs were magical. And I met very kind and interesting people: a japanese hairdresser that could have been straight out of a cartoon, and two people from Israel (both called Ada, fund fact: they both met each other today and turned out they have a common friend back at home). And tomorrow I will cherish the little time that I‘ll have at that white temple.
