Arriving so late in Da Nang yesterday and kind of hungry, we went on a mission to find food close to our hotel. And there were quite a few options available! We sat down on tiny yellow chairs with tiny yellow tables and got some street food sandwiches. It wasn‘t enough, so we continued our search at a local supermarket.

Today, we slept in and it was the most wonderful sleep. We went for some breakfast and took a walk at the beach. It was quite windy and cloudy so we decided to go to the Marble Mountains with some caves and multiple temples. It was beautiful. Different than the temples in Cambodia or Thailand. Different colors.

In the evening we looked for some food. There were many restaurants to choose from and we ended up at a goat restaurant. We didn‘t get it at first that all they had was goat-related until we saw the menu. The waiter didn‘t speak english but we understood that he recommends 500g of goat rips for the 3 of us. We tried to order some sides to it, asked for vegetables, rice or fries but he didn‘t understand. And when he pointed at a soup we decided to let him surprise us. In the end, we got some crackers, a plate with a lot of different mint leaves and 500g of rips. So basically 1,5 rip per person. It wasn‘t really filling, so we paid, left the restaurant and looked for something else. And we stumbled upon the most local street food restaurant you can imagine. The restaurant was on both sides of the street with tiny blue chairs and tables on the pavements. It was completely full, only locals sitting there and the menu only in vietnamese. The very kind waiter helped us to order asking us if we want shrimps and made suggestions. I pointed at a very delicious looking yellow sauce with baguettes on the table next to us. Turned out, that was snails in butter, so we cancelled that one. We got some grilled shrimps on sticks. Very spicy shrimp salad with mango. Tree Baguettes. Oysters. And Chip chip - which we believed was french fries. When we got served mussels, we realised that google translator lied to us. But it was fine, they tasted really nice! Later the waiter asked if we really don‘t want the snails because the sauce is very delicious with the baguettes. So we agreed…because why not. And to our surprise: it was amazing! And that sauce. Just, incredible.
