I really liked the last two days in Hanoi. I completed my personal missions: sandals & art supply shop.

The sandal shop was (of course) in a very dark alley. I probably walked like 15min trying to find this one shop and thought that maybe it just doesn‘t exist. I asked a local by showing pictures of a shoemaker and he pointed towards this unnoticeable tiny path between two buildings. I went with it and was about to give up after taking 2 turns…but there it was! A real cobbler. 5m high ceilings filled with shoe making stuff. Amazing!

I loved exploring the more local parts of Hanoi. There is so much to discover. I found out that there are like hundreds of board game café‘s. I tried a grilled cheese on a stick with matcha powder. I saw a motorcycle transporting the largest orange tree I’ve ever seen. I tried some strange coffee with a lemon foam on top and a lot of salt on the top glass edge of the glass. I walked through a street market where motorbikes where stopping to buy vegetables, raw meat or half a fish head. There was a fish butcher right outside on the streets. They had a big tank with large fish and they just cut the live fish on the spot. There was a lot of blood. I got a dragon fruit. I also wanted to check out a violin shop. Apparently it‘s possible to make your own violin, but unfortunately it was closed so I messaged the owner for details, let‘s see!
