Nothing better than starting a journey and loosing my passport IN THE FIRST PLANE.

I arrived 12:20 in Frankfurt and went to the next gate. Next flight: 13:15. I need to take out my passport to go through and… it’s not there. It’s nowhere. I stay calm. I don’t remember taking it out of my bag. It has to be somewhere. I remember having it when I boarded the plane. I specifically got a bag for documents that I carry around my waist underneath my clothes so something like this doesn’t happen. I go to the police. They call the lost-and-found: nothing. They call the plane, seat E30: nothing. I ask multiple service desks from Lufthansa: nothing. It’s 12:50. They tell me that I won’t make my plane. I am running across the whole airport. Gate A and B are 15min walking distance. I try to find the toilet I went to. I ask the cleaning personal. Not giving up I try to remember which gate I got out. I don’t remember the gate number but by luck and because it kind of FEELS like that one COULD be my arrival gate I ask. The service lady goes into the plane: nothing. She asks for the seat number. It’s 13:05 already. The service person tells me that I won’t make the plane. 13:08 the lady returns and shows me two thumbs up. The pilot gives my passport and says: that’s very last minute! I ask the service person to print out my boarding pass and call the plane that I am on my way and I will sprint for my life. He tells me he can’t tell them to wait, but he’ll call them. I run. Have to go up and down 3 floors of stairs and finally I arrive at the boarding gate at 13:14. They let me in. I am in tears. And so happy. I really have a guardian angel it seems. I am glad I didn’t give up. And I will definitely check everything multiple times from now on.
