First - I slept in. It was very much needed. I played some violin and practiced some improvisations. Yes, you can practice improvisation. I found this great string band which does different kind covers. I was looking for a violin cover of ā€son of a preacher manā€ and it impressed me much. It felt like if I practice a little I could get my improvisation into that direction. Without the double notes though. The band is called Yonder Mountain String Band.

Then I made some scrambled egg, the most teribble scrambles eggs Iā€™ve ever made, but still nice. With untoasted toast. I tried to toast it on the pan but something was wrong with, it didnā€™t work.

And then it was already 2pm. I went to a Muay Thai lesson for beginners. Itā€™s a Thai Martial Arts and really famous here. I loved the precision of it, and the excersises. And I really needed to do something to move my body. But I canā€˜t do the practices in pairs, I donā€˜t want to hurt the other person and it just doesnā€˜t work. Also. With over 35 degrees outside, it is quite a challange. There was an ice bath after the training, so that helped a lot. But letā€˜s see. Maybe I have to find some other sport. Maybe climbing.

After the class I gave a violin class to the lady who let me borrow her violin. It was really nice. Sheā€˜s over 50 and played violin 30 years ago. She got this violin for a cheap price but struggled to start playing on it. I showed her some technique and we practiced a blues scale with a background track to make it more fun. She thanked me a lot. Maybe I find a violin to sell, that would be nice.

In the evening my dive center organized a barbeque and ā€žsnorkle testā€œ for the new dive masters. There were some stupid funny games, like putting on the diving equipment while blind folded. The snorkling test is basically drinking alcohol through the snorkel. Like someone pouring alcohol into the snorkel. Apparently itā€˜s a tradition and applies for the whole island, not sure how universal it is.

It was a great night, we went dancing and stayed up until 2am. First night out!
