Today was the first day I had a proper rest day. I woke up with the sound of wind, the sea and a bit of rain. I watched the palm trees around my bungalow getting more and more light from the rising sun. I read and painted and observed the tiny crabs running on the sand. The beach is magical and turquoise water brings in so much peacefulness. Initially I wanted to go on a fishing+snorkling+barbeque+plankton boat tour with some people I met but it felt too much. I made friends with a swedish girl that has been on this beach for nearly a week now just reading and being present. I can hear birds and every now and then I see some small lizards or frogs.

Actually, there is no real running water so the shared „bathroom“ has a giant bucket with water next to the sink that you can just take out with a smaller bucket. But there is one luxury sink. It has half a coconut with holes in the bottom mounted on wooden sticks above the sink - worked great as a faucet when pouring in some water. The water is very clean, however…I noticed that there are also some baby frogs swimming in the water!

I am happy that there are hammocks everywhere. I was lying on the ground for a bit earlier and had ants crawling on me. If I am lucky, I might be able to exchange some money to stay a bit longer on the island, I was told that there is a diving center that accepts card…so let‘s see.
