My friend from Chiang Rai arrived with the overnight train in Bangkok today and asked if she can leave her bags maybe at mine. We spend the morning together while my parents were still sleeping. It was raining quite a lot…first rainy day actually!

At midday we decided to all go together by boat to Wat Arun. My friend said goodbye afterwards so she can check-in at her hostel and get ready for an Ed Sheeran concert that evening. I would have loved to join her but I didn‘t even dare to look if there were any tickets left, and if, then I imagine the prices would be ridiculous.

my parents and I went to a floating market, went around by a small boat around the canals and walked through China Town since it’s Chinese New Year’s today. It was very crowded. And we thought there might be a parade with dragons or dances or something. There was a parade. But of cars and people sitting in them and armed guards everywhere around them. Someone told us later, that the king was in one of those cars. Who knows. Happy new lunar year! 💛
