Today was my mum’s birthday and it turned out wonderful. The bungalow owner brought us some breakfast snacks in the morning: sweet sticky rice with a fruity mousse on top wrapped in banana leaves. It tasted amazing. He then organized a boat tour for us. We had a whole long tail boat for ourselves. And no tourists anywhere until we reached the main attraction: the famous James Bond island. We didn’t even know we were going to see it, we thought that it’s closer to Pucket.

For lunch we had some sea food and ate soft shell crab for the first time. My dad was surprised how much he liked it. We also had a regular crab that was already a little bit cut in pieces but we got no tools to eat it. We had a spoon and a fork, not even a knife. We probably sat there for half an hour struggling. I also cut myself on the crab. It was a spectacle.

In the afternoon we walked through the mongrove forest and the bungalow owner brought us some Pad Thai. Everywhere it‘s a little different and I don‘t really like it. It‘s like sticky noodles with chicken and egg. But this one…it tasted amazing. I don‘t know if it was because we were so hungry, but it just tasted like the best thing in the world.
