Since today is my last day in Cambodia, I wanted to take a deeper look onto its dark history and visited the Genozid Museum. Khmer Rouge regime in 1975-1979 lead ultimately to the death of 1.5-2 million people which decreased Cambodian’s population by 25%. Mass executions and torture, beating children to death against a tree, I had to stop reading some signs, because my heart couldn‘t take it. Walking through the once prison and torture rooms, it was a heavy. There were also a few survivors there that you could talk to. Initially, I also wanted to visit the Killing Fields, but that will be something for another time.
